About my harps

Odarka’s concert harp is a strikingly beautiful Wurlitzer Starke model made around 1900. It has exquisite workmanship and detailing, is fully gilded — and has an extraordinary sound with a full but gentle bass. It was lovingly rebuilt in 1998 by renown Wurlitzer expert Howard Bryan of Concord, Virginia.
Her folk harp is an Italian made Salvi Renaissance model. It is smaller and less ornate than the concert harp — and, of course, produces a different range of sounds. Although parts of Odarka’s repertoire are ideally performed on one harp or the other, much of it can suit either instrument.
